Alternative Ways to Chat Aside From Instant Messaging

So the owner of the computer you use has uninstalled all instant messaging clients (MSN Messenger, AIM, ICQ, etc), don’t worry, there are plenty of alternatives! It is common place at schools, libraries as well as some households to remove the chat clients to prevent the users from wasting countless hours chatting.

Some of the methods we will list here may be limited if your computer has had web site access limited by firewalls. If you have indeed been limited by firewalls, you can always try using a proxy server to access any forbidden sites.

With that said, people are social beings, especially teenagers. These chat obsessed teens won’t stop just because there is no chat client installed; many of them can’t live without their free teen chat sessions and will dig until they find a way. Because of these restrictions, there are lots of great alternatives to make sure you are never left without the ability to chat again.

I will go over a few options below:

Meebo.com

Meebo is my personal favorite for using your favorite chat applications. It works through your web browser, so all you need to do is go to Meebo.com and you can instantly use MSN, Yahoo!, Facebook or Myspace chat without having anything installed.

Facebook.com

If you have been banned from using chat programs on your computer but can still connect to Facebook via your web browser you can chat on Facebook. Facebook has a great chat system and most people are on Facebook so you can easily get some great chat sessions going.

Teenssite.co.uk

Teensite looks to be a browser based IRC chat where hundreds of teens come to chat in their free online chat. They have plenty of different chat rooms to spend hours chatting in.
